Social Media Backlash Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with other platforms. The platform has recommended to examine their items and manually change the size where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Changes Earlier, the sizing featured one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Shopper Experiences Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Required Changes Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential following partial earnings loss," she explained. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million users, with 18 million British users. It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, Vinted reversed a change to its shipping options following member complaints.
